come back to the present.

Anxiety therapy for women who want to think differently.

Let’s have a moment of silence for everything your anxiety has taken away from you.

Your anxiety is stealing your peace. Living in the future and always trying to get ten steps ahead is not bringing you the comfort you think it would. Our nervous systems are always working to protect and regulate us, but sometimes the messages that get sent to our mind and body get lost in translation. It can be difficult to determine if anxiety is happening for no reason, or if it’s a warning sign that you should be worried about something or preparing differently for the future.

  • You miss saying yes to events without dreading the days leading up to it.

  • You wish you could go with the flow more often and feel like your old self, the one who didn’t overanalyze everything and plan for the worst case scenario.

  • You feel too tired to deal with your thoughts but you’re too anxious to ignore them.

Common signs of anxiety:

  • Trouble controlling your anxiety and worry

  • Quickly becoming irritable

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Trouble relaxing or sleeping

  • Feeling like something awful is going to happen

goals for anxiety therapy:

  • Feel more comfortable with uncertainty and the unknown

  • Learn how to connect with the present moment

  • Find ways to self-soothe and regulate when anxiety takes over

  • Stop avoiding situations that worry you

Your anxiety is getting in the way of the life you want.

Therapy for anxiety can help you restore your mind and reclaim your time.

What to expect when seeking therapy for anxiety:

Anxiety feels different for everyone. It comes up as racing thoughts for some, or butterflies in your stomach for others. In our work together, I’ll get a sense of how your symptoms manifest and how your anxiety affects your day to day. Your anxiety may help you meet deadlines at work, but cause frequent fights with your partner. Through describing your anxiety in detail and answering questions you may not have considered before, you’ll get an idea of the narrative you hold about your anxiety and how it shows up in your life.

Unfortunately, therapy may not get rid of your anxiety completely. Anxiety can be helpful sometimes and serve a purpose, but often people seek therapy when they can no longer manage their worries on their own. Therapy will help you better understand the warning signs that your anxiety is surfacing, and provide tools for coping. There will always be inevitable anxieties in life, but learning how to handle your anxiety can help you feel in control and ready for whatever lies ahead. You likely have an idea of how you want to handle things differently- whether that’s communicating more calmly with others when you feel anxious or stopping your thoughts from spiraling to the worst case scenario, we’ll explore realistic remedies that will help you beyond the therapy hour.

In our sessions together, we will…

  • Explore coping strategies to calm your mind and relax your body, discussing ways to help your nervous system self-soothe

  • Look beyond the surface of how symptoms appear to understand what your anxiety is trying to tell you

  • Practice acceptance so you can co-exist with inevitable worries that you can’t eliminate

  • Cultivate a sense of identity to reconnect with who you are when you’re not feeling anxious

  • Release future fears about your anxiety impacting your quality of life
